Nivica NV-SW-2824G-L3-4XU is a professional, managed Layer 3 network switch housed in a compact 1U enclosure designed for mounting in 19-inch rack cabinets or directly on a desk.
The device features 24 copper RJ45 ports with 10/100/1000Base-T/TX bandwidth and MDI/MDI-X auto-detection, 4 ultra-fast SFP+ fiber slots supporting speeds of 1, 2.5, and 10 Gbps, as well as a dedicated RS232 console port.
The switch features a non-blocking switching capacity of 598 Gbps, a packet forwarding rate of 107.14 Mpps, a 32K MAC address table, and 32MB of buffer memory.
It is powered by a built-in AC 100~220V (50-60Hz, 5A) power supply and provides port surge protection up to 4kV and ESD protection compliant with the IEC61000-4-2 standard (±8kV contact, ±15kV air). From the installer's and end-user's perspective, the device provides exceptional flexibility and reliability in the most demanding network structures.
The copper ports work with Category 3, 4, 5, and 5e or later UTP cabling at distances up to 100 meters, while the SFP+ fiber interfaces allow for flexible selection of single-mode or multi-mode modules with LC connectors, providing transmission over distances from several hundred meters up to 120 km.
The switch supports static port aggregation and LACP (up to 8 groups with a maximum of 8 ports each), standard Spanning Tree protocols STP, RSTP, and MSTP, as well as advanced ring topology redundancy thanks to the G.8032 (ERPS) protocol supporting up to 255 loops.
Advanced traffic management includes IGMP and MLD Snooping protocols (up to 1024 multicast groups), QoS mechanisms with 8 output queues per port, 802.1p/DSCP priority mapping, rate limiting, and packet filtering based on Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control Lists (ACL). Network administrators are provided with a powerful software tool supporting static and default routing (up to 128 entries) and the ARP protocol (up to 1024 entries), as well as flexible VLAN configuration in port-based, protocol-based, Access, Trunk, Hybrid, and QinQ modes.
Configuration and management can be performed via an intuitive WEB interface (HTTPS), CLI command line (Console, Telnet, SSH2.0), SNMP protocols (V1/V2C/V3), and the central NMS management system, with support for FTP, TFTP, SFTP, Xmodem, NTP protocols, and diagnostic mechanisms such as Ping or cable status testing.
A high level of operational security is guaranteed by user authentication features (802.1X, AAA, RADIUS), DoS attack protection, ARP inspection, IP source address protection, MAC address limits, MAC black holes, and IP+MAC+VLAN+port binding.
